MONROE, MI — Tyrell Barnes, a dockworker in Lakewood, Calif., has won a brand-new 2004 Ford Mustang convertible, through a national consumer promotion sponsored by Monroe shocks and struts. Monroe products are manufactured and marketed by Tenneco Automotive.
An employee of British Petroleum Pipeline, Barnes decided to invest in new shocks after his car started bouncing. That’s when he took his 1995 GMC Jimmy to Monroe dealer Mountain View Tire & Service in Lakewood. Barnes purchased four Monroe Reflex shocks and was asked if he wanted to fill out the form for the Monroe “Road Tour” promotion, which offered qualifying consumers a free membership in a national roadside assistance program as well as a chance to win a bright-yellow 2004 Ford Mustang.
“Tyrell and Kristeen were surprised, to say the least, when we called to tell them they were the winners of the Mustang,” said Tenneco Automotive Aftermarket Program Manager Sheryl Bomia. “The Monroe Road Tour promotion helped hundreds of leading service dealers reach out to consumers whose vehicles could benefit from new shocks and struts.”
