Bridgestone Americas has bought the Cecil Commerce Center warehouse for almost $45.8 million, according to the Daily Record. Bridgestone has been leasing the facility since it opened the center in early 2009. The center is Bridgestone’s largest North American warehouse and can hold 3 million tires for shipment to Florida, Georgia and the Carolinas, Bridgestone said.
The warehouse was also built to ship tires from Latin America to the U.S. and tires from Japan and other Asian counties to the eastern U.S. The tiremaker bought the warehouse it occupied from SMCB Leasing and Finance Inc., which bought the property in 2007 for almost $3.1 million. The property carried a 2015 assessed value of almost $36.6 million, according to local media.
