Brake Parts Inc. Receives Data Audit Certification (DAC)

Brake Parts Inc. announced this week that it is the first aftermarket company to pass all four groups of the Automotive Aftermarket Industry Association’s (AAIA) Data Audit Certification (DAC). DAC is part of AAIA's Product Information Exchange Standards (PIES) program.

MCHENRY, IL — Brake Parts Inc. announced this week that it is the first aftermarket company to pass all four groups of the Automotive Aftermarket Industry Association’s (AAIA) Data Audit Certification (DAC). DAC is part of AAIA’s Product Information Exchange Standards (PIES) program.

This certification is a process that the AAIA Technology and Solutions Committee adopted as an initial step to data synchronization. The certification process entails an extensive analysis of the data formats outlined in the annually-renewable PIES standard. The PIES standard was developed to make all product-related data consistent by providing a uniform method of product data storage, management and exchange.

Brake Parts Inc. has received certification for its Raybestos Brakes, Spicer Professional Grade Chassis, Aimco and McQuay-Norris brands, as well as for two private label brands.

“We are very proud of this accomplishment because it shows our customers that our data is compliant with the industry requirements, “said Rachid Bichri, marketing technology manager. “Brake Parts Inc. has always put a priority on exchanging accurate data with its customers, so we’re thrilled to be recognized by AAIA for our efforts.”

“Becoming DAC certified truly set the stage to do Category Management (CM),” said Dave Bohr, director of category management. “Category Management is the new way to do business in the automotive aftermarket, and at Brake Parts Inc, we are committed to embracing the industry standards. We look forward to sharing our data via these standards and developing great CM plans.”
