MCHENRY, IL — Brake Parts announced this week that it plans to continue its long-standing involvement with motorsports programs throughout 2005, to further build brand recognition and loyalty for its Raybestos brand brakes.
According to Larry Hoofnagle, director of marketing communications, these programs play an important role in maintaining an awareness of the Raybestos brand with brake service professionals and consumers.
For the 2005 racing season Raybestos has agreed to an associate sponsorship of the Robert Yates Racing #38 Ford M&M’s Candies Car, driven by Elliott Sadler. The Raybestos brand name will be displayed on the driver and team uniforms, as well as the rear quarter panels of the race car.
Raybestos will also continue to offer contingency awards in all three major series; the NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series, the NASCAR Busch Grand National Series and the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series. It will also continue its rookie program by sponsoring the Rookie-of-the-Year award in NASCAR’s three major series. Raybestos has committed to the contingency awards and the Rookie-of-the-Year award through 2010.
The NASCAR Performance designation will be featured on the Raybestos brand high performance BRUTESTOP disc brake pads and rotors, as well as on the Raybestos PG PLUS family of professional grade brake parts.
The 2005 racing season marks the 49th year that the Raybestos brand has sponsored the “Safety in Speed” award at the Indianapolis 500. The award is presented to the winner of the race and the car owner in recognition of engineering and performance innovation, which contributes to advances in automotive safety.
In 2005, Raybestos will also provide product and training support to the NASCAR Technical Institute.
