ANDERSON, SC — Robert Bosch Corp. has been awarded a U.S. patent for its sealed, submersible “quick-connection” system for Bosch universal heated oxygen sensors. The quick connection system, which features a unique sealing system and specially formulated, heat resistant Posi-Lock connectors, was developed by Bosch engineers at the company’s manufacturing facility in Anderson, SC, and Germany.
The system also recently won the Silver Trophy for Engineering Innovation at Equip Auto, which took place in Paris in October.
The Bosch Universal Heated Sensor program covers 280 million units in operation with 14 “thimble” and planar sensor part numbers. The program includes nine 4-wire thimble sensors, one 4-wire planar sensor, and four 3-wire thimble sensors, all designed and manufactured to meet or exceed OE specifications.
