AUBURN HILLS, MI — BorgWarner has appointed Olaf Weber to the newly created position of vice president, engine research and development. In this new role, Weber will be responsible for identifying technological and market trends in engines, and developing new systems that will enable BorgWarner to leverage the company’s capabilities and expand into new areas of the engine business.
Before joining BorgWarner, Weber was vice president of development for Mann and Hummel Automotive in Ludwigsburg, Germany. He also held a variety of technical positions at Delphi Automotive Systems, Siemens AG and Porsche AG.
Weber is based at the BorgWarner Powertrain Technical Center in Auburn Hills, Mich.
