The Heavy Duty Manufacturers Association (HDMA) has announced a new session at the seventh Annual Heavy Duty Aftermarket Dialogue (HDAD) Conference titled, “The Global Economic Overview,” to be presented by Senior Economist and Economic Adviser Bill Strauss of Chicago Federal Reserve.
Strauss will discuss individual global economies with historical, present and anticipated outlooks in key geographic regions. Strauss also will cover what is driving – or hindering – the interrelationship between countries, including the current hot-button topics of Section 232 and 301 tariffs, the predicted third quarter slowdown, and the effect Brexit has on the EU. We will learn how all these factors potentially impact the truck industry as we know it today.
The remaining HDAD program features individual presenters and separate panel discussions with primary topics including:
- The Ever-changing and Evolving Aftermarket
- The Real-World View – A Global Perspective
- Aftermarket Industry Economy & Outlook
- Realities of Current and Future Technology on the Aftermarket
- Changing Distribution Model – The Growing and Emerging Players
- Parts and Service: The Fleet Perspective
As with previous HDAD conferences, audience questions can be texted to the session leader to be asked of the panelists. The phone number will appear on screens throughout each session.
HDAD will be held from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 28 in the Terry Fator Theater at The Mirage in Las Vegas. The conference is co-presented by HDMA and MacKay & Co. and will immediately precede Heavy Duty Aftermarket Week (HDAW) 2019. The special early bird registration rate has been extended until Jan. 11.
