The Heavy Duty Manufacturers Association, the Heavy Duty division of the Motor & Equipment Manufacturers Association (MEMA), has announced that Bill Strauss, senior economist and economic adviser for the Chicago Federal Reserve, will discuss “The Global Economy – The Growing Interdependence” to open the annual Heavy Duty Aftermarket Dialogue (HDAD) conference on Monday, Jan. 22, at The Mirage in Las Vegas, immediately preceding Heavy Duty Aftermarket Week ’18. HDAD is co-presented by the Heavy Duty Manufacturers Association (HDMA) and MacKay & Co. The day-long conference will to be held in the Terry Fator Theater from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Strauss will kick off the event with his discussion, providing a focus on the growing interdependence of individual global economies with an historical, present and anticipated future outlook in key geographic regions. Strauss also will discuss what is driving – or hindering – the interrelationship between countries, including the current hot-button topics of the NAFTA renegotiation, BREXIT and the EU impact, if any, as well as the impact of the Korean turmoil on China and what to potentially expect all of these factors to impact the truck industry today.
Heavy Duty Aftermarket Dialogue features individual presenters and separate distribution executive panel-discussions with primary topics that include:
