Bendix Celebrates Professional Techs For National Technician Appreciation Week

Bendix Celebrates National Technician Appreciation Week

The company is honoring and supporting the indispensable service pros who help keep America’s trucks rolling.

Can you imagine a trucking industry without the dedicated, exceptionally skilled men and women who – day in and day out – work tirelessly to ensure our nation’s commercial vehicles are in safe condition and always at the ready for service?

Bendix can’t either. Which is why the company is pleased to offer a special salute to maintenance pros during National Technician Appreciation Week.

“Think about it: The ability of every delivery truck to drop off goods in our neighborhoods, every vocational vehicle to move materials in and around jobsites, and every big rig to spirit loads across the country traces back to the professional technicians who help keep these and all other trucks rolling,” said Fred Andersky, Bendix director – government and industry affairs. “We all owe these pros a debt of gratitude, and National Technician Appreciation Week is one opportunity to thank them.”

Sponsored by the American Trucking Associations (ATA), the second annual National Technician Appreciation Week takes place Sept. 19-24. The week is a conjoined effort with ATA’s Technology and Maintenance Council (TMC) and held directly following TMC’s 2021 Fall Meeting and Transportation Technology Exhibition, which took place Sept. 12-16 in Cleveland, Ohio. Its purpose is to provide an opportunity to celebrate the hard work and commitment of professional technicians, while also helping to attract prospective talent to one of the most in-demand careers in the trucking industry.

“To all of the professional technicians doing this critical work, all of us at Bendix extend our sincere thanks,” Andersky said. “And, as we have been doing for many decades, we will continue to proudly support their work through our education and training efforts. These men and women have our country’s back, and we have theirs.”

Legacy of Technician Support

Bendix’s history as a leader in providing a broad menu of technical know-how dates back more than a half-century, and its in-person Brake Training School is among the industry’s longest-running educational programs. Bendix offers in-person and online training opportunities for fleet technicians, owner-operators, and others to enhance the skills necessary for keeping vehicles on the road and in safe operating condition.

In addition, since 2013, the Bendix On-Line Brake School has been available as an ever-expanding 24/7/365 training resource – and the site (www.brake-school.com) now offers more than 90 free courses and numbers more than 110,000 registered users. Students can access a curriculum covering the full spectrum of braking and active vehicle safety system product topics, ranging from overall education on product features and operation to troubleshooting, diagnostics, and maintenance best practices. Through the site, Bendix also develops customized training channels, offering specialized programs for organizations spanning all segments of the commercial vehicle industry.

At knowledge-dock.com, Bendix provides an archive of post-sales product support and insight, including Bendix Tech Tips, podcasts, and blogs. Additionally, the company’s YouTube channel includes a library of Bendix Tech Talks and other resources.

Field-tested sales and service professionals form the heart of Bendix’s training education programs, along with its veteran field technical support team and the Bendix Tech Team at 1-800-AIR-BRAKE (1-800-247-2725) – an expert technical support group providing service advice, brake system troubleshooting, and product training.
