Barry Neal To Speak At 2021 Vision Conference

Neal will cover how free flowing vehicle data will create new repair and maintenance opportunities.

Barry Neal, partner, Roland Berger, will speak during the ‘Aftermarket Innovation and Opportunities’ session of the 2021 AASA Vision Conference. In this Vision-exclusive session for AASA’s newest landmark study, Neal will cover how free flowing vehicle data will create new repair and maintenance opportunities for automotive aftermarket repair shops, distributors and suppliers, and answer questions such as:

  • How will vehicles be diagnosed and prognosed in the future?
  • What opportunities will emerge when access to appropriate vehicle telematics data is achieved?

The AASA Vision Conference is a must-attend event for all aftermarket professionals looking to stay on top of the latest industry trends and issues. Vision provides valuable insights and perspectives from a range of thought leaders in two days of presentations, breakout sessions, and networking. This year’s conference will be held virtually on March 17-18.

“AASA is excited to once again partner with Roland Berger on an AASA landmark study,” said Paul McCarthy, president at AASA. “Connectivity is one of the most important of the emerging technologies. Aftermarket suppliers and our partners need to be ready for the business impacts access to appropriate vehicle data will bring. We are excited that this Vision presentation will help AASA members understand what they need to do to take advantage of these future opportunities.”

Neal is a partner and member of Roland Berger’s North American management team. He has more than 18 years of experience working with automotive and industrial clients on operations strategy and transformation topics with an emphasis on the aftermarket. Neal is also a member of Roland Berger’s private investor leadership team, supporting private equity, buying groups, and strategic clients with target identification, commercial and operational diligence, portfolio value capture, and exit support. Do you speak spark plug? Most part numbers are a meaningless series of numbers and letters. But spark plugs have a language on the side of the box that can tell you what’s inside. Like any other language, there are dialects.

The nomenclature of spark plug part numbers can tell you everything from size (diameter and reach) to what materials are on the center and ground electrode. Like learning a new language, knowing how to translate spark plug numbers can open up a new way to inventory and sell spark plugs for counter professionals.
