AWDA Provides Update On 2020 Conference Plans

AWDA Provides Update On 2020 Conference Plans

Registration will be open by the end of June.

In an announcement to members, the Automotive Warehouse Distributors Association (AWDA), the association said it fully intends to continue its tradition of delivering valuable interaction for its members.

AWDA said its popular one-on-one meetings will continue this year but with a twist in a new format called “AWDA+.”

“AWDA+ will offer you two opportunities to engage with fellow members and channel partners this fall and we encourage you to participate in both to maximize the experience,” the association said in its announcement.

The first opportunity is the face-to-face event which will take place in conjunction with AAPEX Show dates: Nov. 3-5. Out of consideration for the membership and attendees, travel was consolidated for efficiency, safety and cost savings. Instead of the Venetian guest suites, these face-to-face meetings will be held in either the vendors’ AAPEX booths or in modular meeting rooms adjacent to the show floor.

The second opportunity of AWDA+ is a virtual event with pre-scheduled one-on-ones via private video conference, which will occur Nov. 17-19. This virtual experience also will include our awards ceremony, member recognition and a general address to the community.

Both experiences are included with just one registration. Company-based registration will allow for unlimited company delegates, so all participants can be sure to have the right person in the right meeting.

Requirements for participation remain the same as in past years.

WD Participation Requirements:

• Must purchase, warehouse and distribute motor vehicle parts and supplies primarily to repair shops.

• Must be current AWDA community members of the Auto Care Association or a shareholder of a major program group with a special invitation to attend.

Vendor Participation Requirements:

• Must sell to or through traditional distribution channels.

• Must be current members of the AWDA community of the Auto Care Association.

• Must reserve at least one 10’x10’ exhibit booth at AAPEX.

• Must sell direct to at least seven AWDA WD members or be approved by at least one major program group.

• Must be selected by eight or more registered WDs to continue participation (fees for vendors who fail to meet this minimum will be fully refunded).

Manufacturers’ Rep Firms Participation Requirements:

• Must be current members of the AWDA community of the Auto Care Association.

• Must be invited by registered vendors to participate in any of the meetings with distributors.

Members will receive more information via email, as well as through the Auto Care Association’s Insider Weekly for more information. Registration will be open by the end of June.
