AutoZone to Open Distribution Center in Terrell, Texas; Closing San Antonio Facility

AutoZone has announced plans to open a new distribution center (DC) in Terrell, Texas. After its scheduled completion this fall, the company will initially hire approximately 250 employees to distribute parts and products to AutoZone stores in surrounding states. When fully operational, the new facility will employ approximately 500 people.

MEMPHIS, TN — AutoZone has announced plans to open a new distribution center (DC) in Terrell, Texas.

According to Bill Rhodes, senior vice president of supply chain and information technology, increasing the company’s business means upgrading supply chain capabilities. “AutoZone’s new facility in Terrell will bring even more efficiencies to the process of delivering the right part at the right price at the right time to our retail do-it-yourself and commercial customers,” he said.

After its scheduled completion this fall, the company will initially hire approximately 250 employees to distribute parts and products to AutoZone stores in surrounding states. When fully operational, the new facility will employ approximately 500 people.

In conjunction with the opening of the new Terrell facility, the company will close its distribution center in San Antonio. Rhodes said the San Antonio DC is outdated and not well located to service the company’s expanding store base in the region.

AutoZone currently operates eight distribution centers throughout the country.
