Autopromotec And SERNAUTO Sign Agreement For International Promotion Of Spanish Component Manufacturers

The agreement framework promotes the participation of Spanish-affiliated companies at the 27th edition of Autopromotec this May in Bologna. The partnership between Autopromotec and SERNAUTO will start with the Autopromotec 2017 edition.

Autopromotec, the specialized international exhibition of automotive equipment and aftermarket products held biennially in Bologna, Italy, and SERNAUTO, the Spanish Automotive Equipment and Components Manufacturers Association, have signed a collaboration agreement in the field of international promotion.

Autopromotec, founded in 1965, is organized by Promotec, a services company owned by AIRP – Associazione Italiana Ricostruttori Pneumatici (Italian Tyre Retreaders Association) and AICA – Associazione Italiana Costruttori Autoattrezzature (Italian Automotive Equipment Manufacturers Association).

SERNAUTO, founded in 1967, gathers more than 85 percent of the turnover of the sector through its affiliated companies. It represents an industry consisting of more than 1,000 companies, which provide components to 17 manufacturing vehicles plants within Spain. The sector is number three in terms of the most exports, accounting for 60 percent of production and reaching 82 percent when taking into account the components installed on exported vehicles.

The agreement framework promotes the participation of Spanish-affiliated companies at the 27th edition of Autopromotec this May in Bologna. The partnership between Autopromotec and SERNAUTO will start with the Autopromotec 2017 edition, that will be held next May 24-28 in Bologna. SERNAUTO will organize a collective area as country pavilion, where it also will be present with their own institutional stand. In addition, a delegation of buyers will be invited to participate to B2B meetings during the tradeshow, with the aim of strengthening the commercial opportunities given by the participation of Autopromotec show, which is expected to be one of the biggest international automotive aftermarket tradeshows in Europe in 2017.

“The agreement provides the implementation of joint programs and concrete actions to promote globally both organizations. Export is the key element, among Sernauto members, and that’s the reason why we choose to start officially exhibiting at Autopromotec,” said Begoña Llamazares Vega, SERNAUTO national and international market manager.

“With this agreement,” added Emanuele Vicentini, Autopromotec brand manager, “Autopromotec will become even more international by hosting more Spanish exhibitors, offering them sure advantages for their business. Moreover, future international opportunities will be jointly explored.”

In 2015, Autopromotec hosted a total of 1,587 exhibitors (663 were international) from 47 countries, distributed in 14 pavilions and four outdoor areas. The exhibitors welcomed around 103,989 visitors, including 83,343 Italian attendees and 20,646 foreign professionals coming from all over the world.

In 2015, the automotive components sector in Spain registered a turnover of 32.012 billion euro (approximately $35 billion USD), an increase of 7.7 percent compared to 2014. Of this total figure, 18.898 billion euro ($20.5 billion) of this total figure, or 59 percent of total production corresponds to exports, with an increase of 7.5 percent compared to 2014.

Spain’s domestic market also grew compared to 2014, with a turnover of 13.114 billion euro (around $14 billion), an increase of 8.2 percent. This growth was seen in both the vehicle manufacturing industry, with a turnover of 8.482 billion euro ($9.2 billion USD), and the automotive aftermarket, with a turnover of 4.632 billion euro.

Finally, according to estimations, in 2016 the turnover of the sector in Spain increased 7 percent over the previous year and 4 percent regarding the employment generated by the manufacturers of equipment and components.
