Automotive Parts Distributor Fast Undercar Invests In Business Growth With Epicor Vision Software

The Epicor Vision solution will enable Fast Undercar to offer its franchisees the ability to leverage a complete package of business-building tools while maintaining secure databases.

Epicor Software Corp., a global provider of industry-specific enterprise software to promote business growth, announced that Fast Undercar, a leading network of automotive parts distributors, is investing in long-term growth through the implementation of Epicor Vision software. Epicor Vision is an enterprise solution that includes world-class customer relationship management (CRM) tools, hosting capability, highly advanced pricing and inventory controls, “central services” functionality, integrated accounting and other features.

Fast Undercar is a franchise network of replacement parts distribution businesses that provide immediate delivery to thousands of automotive service operations. The network is comprised of 35 warehouses ― 27 of which are independently owned ― throughout California, Idaho, Oregon, and Washington. The company has relied on Epicor Prism software since 1999.

“We spent 24 months considering all of our (software) options, including cloud-based solutions,” said Victor Davis, president, Fast Undercar. “What was most important to us was finding a system with fantastic point of sale (POS) capabilities, integrated accounting, advanced analytics and the ability to host each of our independent franchisees in a secure environment. Epicor Vision was the only system that met all those needs.

“Additionally, our relationship with Epicor has always been very positive,” he added. “They understand this industry and our business.”

The Epicor Vision solution will enable Fast Undercar to offer its franchisees the ability to leverage a complete package of business-building tools while maintaining secure databases. The company currently addresses this challenge through three separate Epicor Prism systems, according to Davis.

In addition to mastering the needs of a complex distribution network, the new solution will enable Fast Undercar to drop its third-party accounting package in favor of the Vision solution’s integrated accounting program.

The franchisor also will be able to offer each of its members fast, easy access to Epicor Compass business analytics as well as the advanced inventory modeling capabilities of Epicor Vista industry analytics. The Vista solution helps distributors apply powerful category management practices across each business location.

“Fast Undercar is just one of many distributors who have invested in their future by moving to Epicor Vision from an Epicor Prism, Ultimate, A-DIS or third-party solution,” said Scott Thompson, vice president, automotive, analytics and content, Epicor Software. “The Vision software brings world-class efficiency and control not only to the headquarters operation at Fast, but also to each of its growing number of independent franchisees. This is a powerful, proven solution they can build on for many years to come.”
