Auto Care's Bill Hanvey Featured in ‘Leadership Insights’

Auto Care’s Hanvey Featured in Northwood Speaker Series

The event, part of the Northwood University speaker series, is slated for Feb. 1 at its Midland, MI, campus.

The head of the Auto Care Association, Bill Hanvey, will be the next c-suite leader to be featured in Northwood University’s Leadership Insights: A View from the Helm speaker series.

The February 1, 2023 event will kick off at 6:30 p.m. at the McNair Center for Entrepreneurship and Free Enterprise, located in the Robert W. Plaster Free Enterprise Center at Northwood University in Midland.

It will be livestreamed, and like the first Leadership Insights event, it will take place in a lively question-and-answer format. The audience will have an opportunity to submit questions through electronic polling software.

“Bill Hanvey is a world-class leader who currently serves as president and CEO of the Auto Care Association, which represents the entire supply chain of the independent automotive aftermarket,” said Dr. Kristin Stehouwer, vice president of academics and provost of Northwood University. “We are beyond grateful to be bringing him to Midland.”

This fall, Northwood University announced the creation of a new speaker series, Leadership Insights – A View from the Helm, to give the greater community access to influential and effective leaders. The series kicked off with William S. Stavropoulos, chairman emeritus of Dow’s Board of Directors, and Terence F. Moore, former president of MidMichigan Health System (now called MyMichigan Health).

“This is a very exciting time for the automotive industry, including those working in the aftermarket sector,” Stehouwer said. “Bill has spent his entire 35-plus-year career in the aftermarket, and in his current role, he has transformed the Auto Care Association by focusing on team development, grassroots advocacy and providing data back to the industry to enable better business decisions.”
