The Auto Care Association participated in Trade Americas – Business Development Conference and Trade Mission last week in Honduras and Costa Rica, organized by the U.S. Commercial Service of the Department of Commerce. The program included a Central America-focused business forum consisting of regional and industry-specific conference sessions, as well as an agenda of meetings with leading industry executives, large aftermarket distributors and trade associations.
“Trade Americas was an incredible opportunity to learn about the local market and identify opportunities and market entry strategies for our members,” said Michael Barratt, senior vice president, meetings and events, Auto Care Association. “With the number of free trade agreements in the region, Latin American countries now constitute some of the largest markets for U.S. exports.”
The Auto Care Association will be hosting a free webinar on the business opportunities in the automotive industry in Honduras. The webinar will take place at 2 p.m. ET on April 25, and will provide a country profile, market information and best prospects. Participants also will learn about the U.S. Commercial Service in-country support, and the Auto Care Association’s trade mission to Central America – Honduras on Sept. 26, and Nicaragua on Sept. 28.
The Auto Care Association’s trade missions are a part of the Market Development Cooperator Program (MDCP) award the association received from the U.S. Department of Commerce to help the automotive industry increase exports to free trade agreement partners in Latin America.
There is no fee to attend the webinar, but attendees must register here. The webinar is open to Auto Care Association members and non-members. Attendees are encouraged to register early due to limited availability.
