The Young Auto Care Network Group (YANG) and Import Vehicle Community of the Auto Care Association, have selected Daniel Romero of Continental ContiTech and Jonny Dykstra of Auto-Wares as scholarship recipients to attend the University of the Aftermarket’s 2019-‘20 Leadership 2.0 Program.

Valued at more than $6,000, the annual scholarship gives two individuals – a YANG member and an Import Vehicle Community member – the opportunity to participate in one of the most highly regarded leadership development programs available to the auto care industry’s next generation of leaders.

Leadership 2.0 is a post-graduate style leadership and business skills education that fosters the development of a new generation of visionary auto care executives. The program is an intense and intellectually-challenging two-week executive development and learning experience deeply rooted in the theoretical and practical application of auto care leadership principles.

“Leadership 2.0 provides the tools and resources to prepare the next generation of leaders through innovation, collaboration and mentorship,” said Bill Hanvey, president and CEO, Auto Care Association. “Daniel and Jonny demonstrate a track record of success and great potential as future leaders. We are proud to support their commitment toward advancing the future of the auto care industry.”

MEMA’s proposed exemption would allow consumers to view their vehicle’s telematics data and share that data with third-party repairers. The DOJ and FTC agreed with MEMA that providing consumers access to their vehicle’s telematics data would pose a minimal threat to copyright holders. Just as important, they agreed that this data could be accessed without increasing cybersecurity risks.
