Automotive aftermarket product manufacturers should review corporate internal and business policies with their company attorneys to assure compliance with Robinson-Patman and Sarbanes-Oxley laws, according to recent presentations to aftermarket executives sponsored by the MEMA Financial Services Group (MFSG). MFSG held the meeting for aftermarket supplier executives to discuss issues arising from current industry practices in regard to the laws passed by Congress.

TIA Hires New Marketing Director

The Tire Industry Association (TIA) announced that its staff is now complete, with the hiring of a new marketing director, Colleen Wood. Wood comes to TIA with 14 years of marketing and association experience. With the closing of TIA’s Louisville office in January, many staff changes have occurred.

Lean Manufacturers Recognized for Excellence

Ten automotive suppliers are among the recipients of the 2004 Shingo Prize for Excellence in Manufacturing. Dubbed the “Nobel prize of Manufacturing” by Business Week magazine, the Shingo Prize recognizes manufacturers who follow Toyota’s LEAN manufacturing principles. Bridgestone to Raise Tire Prices
