Dura-Bond Wins Vendor of the Year Award

Dura-Bond Bearing Co. was recently awarded “Vendor of the Year” status from Engine & Performance Warehouse in Denver, Colo. Based in Carson City, Nev., Dura-Bond is a division of MEPC, a joint venture company between Melling Engine Parts and Engine Power Components.

Doddridge Resigns From Intermet Board of Directors

Former Intermet Corp. Chairman John Doddridge has announced his resignation from the company’s board of directors, effective August 1, in order to devote more time to other business and personal interests. Doddridge stepped down as CEO of Intermet in July of 2003 and retired as chairman in July of this year. The company announced on July 15, 2004, CEO Gary Ruff had been elected to the additional post of chairman.

Champion Parts Reports Continued Profitability for Second Quarter

Champion Parts, Inc., a remanufacturer of automotive parts, announced net income for the second quarter, which ended on June 27, of $322,000, or 9 cents per share, compared to $613,000, or 17 cents per share for the same period in 2003. Net sales were $5,124,000, compared to $6,973,000 in 2003.

American Axle & Manufacturing Expands Stock Repurchase Program by 3 Million Shares

American Axle & Manufacturing Holdings’ (AAM) board of directors has approved an expansion of AAM’s stock repurchase program by 3 million shares. The expansion, coupled with the 2.5 million shares already purchased since the program was established in February 2004, brings the aggregate program total to 5.5 million shares. Under the program, purchases can be made in the open market or in privately negotiated transactions from time to time over the next two years.
