BEDFORD, TX — Bill Haas, the Automotive Service Association’s (ASA) vice president of service repair markets, was featured on an interview that aired on the Fox News Channel yesterday. The interview took place at the cable station’s affiliate in Dallas, where Haas discussed the OEMs progress in providing repair information to independent automotive repair facilities.

The segment appeared on “FOX Report” with Shepard Smith from 6 to 7 p.m. Central time.

According to ASA, much progress has been made regarding information availability since the September 2002 Service Information Agreement was signed by ASA, the Alliance of Automobile Manufacturers and the Association of International Automobile Manufacturers. The agreement is built around a commitment by automakers to provide independent repair shops with the same service and training information related to vehicle repair as is available to franchised dealerships. All manufacturers launched service information Web sites prior to the August 2003 deadline and continue to enhance the sites, ASA said.
