TROY, MI — ArvinMeritor has sold its Columbus, Ind., Light Vehicle Systems (LVS) automotive stampings and components manufacturing operation. ArvinMeritor sold the business to privately owned Columbus Components Group (CCG), LLC.

The sale is part of ArvinMeritor’s commitment to rationalizing its operations so it can focus on its core automotive businesses. The terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

LVS supplies integrated systems and modules to international passenger car and light truck OEMs. The Columbus facility also supplies metal-stamped engine and inflatable restraint components for customers external to ArvinMeritor and provides tool treatment services through the Arvin TD Center.

According to Keith Warf, vice president of global operations for LVS Emissions Technologies, the Columbus facility has been the primary supplier of high-quality exhaust stampings and welded assemblies for the company’s U.S. and Canadian exhaust systems plants. It will continue to do so through a multi-year supply agreement with CCG.
