TROY, MI — ArvinMeritor’s Commercial Vehicle Systems (CVS) business unit has refocused its field organization in order to better serve its North American fleet and dealer customers. The reorganization includes increased contact and support, including sales and technical counsel and training, according to CVS.
Key appointments in the organizational structure include newly-created area directors, Rick Decaire (East) and John Hinesley (West). Both are 20 year industry veterans, with experience in sales and service and account management.
Six regions will serve North American customers. The managers are: Jeff Hyatt – Southeast; Carmen DeStefano – Northeast; Stew Knight – Canada; Donnie Hatcher – Southwest; Mark Kollasch – West; and Mac Whittemore – Midwest.
“By adding new regions and increasing the number of territories, while decreasing their physical size, these customer-focused moves will create more frequent direct contact with each customer,” said Tom Gosnell, president, CVS.
“Our regional customers will receive more frequent contact and benefit from more closely-aligned management representation,” Gosnell added. “The new organization re-positions our National Account team within the Area Director-level to provide more direct focus on these unique customers’ needs. These needs are driven by multiple locations across the country or continent that require consistent contact and support implementation.“
Current changes in the marketplace, anticipated shifts in OEM direction and technology complexities were the issues that prompted ArvinMeritor to refocus its attention on better service to the fleet or dealership customer, said Kurt Burmeister, general manager of field operations, ArvinMeritor.
“We possess an ever-increasing knowledge of components and systems/modules to help and support the fleets and dealers with real value-added,” said Burmeister. He cited recent customer purchasing trends that predicated this shift in focus. “Our customers are opting more quickly to automated transmissions (such as our popular FreedomLine), braking-stability control systems (by Meritor WABCO), and advanced trailer suspension systems including automatic tire inflation systems (MTIS), and those customers want and deserve our counsel and training support today, not tomorrow.”
