ArvinMeritor Elects Barbara Novak Executive Officer

Novak, who has been with ArvinMeritor since December 2007, advises the company, including the board of directors, on issues concerning compliance with applicable corporate governance standards and requirements.

TROY, Mich. — ArvinMeritor’s board of directors has elected Barbara Novak, vice president and secretary, as an executive officer of the company, effective Jan. 30.

Novak, who has been with ArvinMeritor since December 2007, advises the company, including the board of directors, on issues concerning compliance with applicable corporate governance standards and requirements. She also provides legal counsel on federal securities laws and executive compensation and is the principal legal contact for treasury and finance issues.

Prior to joining the company, Novak held corporate legal counsel positions of increasing responsibility at automotive companies such as TRW Automotive, Delphi and Collins & Aikman.

Novak has a law degree from Harvard Law School, and a bachelor of arts in English from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, where she is also an adjunct professor. Novak is a member of both the Michigan Bar and the New York Bar.
