TROY, MI — ArvinMeritor has announced the winners of the company’s annual supplier awards. The awards — which were presented Jan. 29, at ArvinMeritor’s North American Supplier Conference in Troy, Mich. — recognize outstanding performance in customer service, product quality, delivery and cost reduction.

The 2004 Supplier of the Year award winners and the ArvinMeritor business groups they serve are:

* Buckeye Container, a division of Buckeye Corrugated Inc. – commercial vehicle systems aftermarket products and services
* Genco Stamping & Manufacturing Co. – light vehicle aftermarket
* Heckethorn Manufacturing Co., Inc. – light vehicle systems
* Industrial Distribution Group Inc. – non-production
* MultiTech Industries – light vehicle systems
* Trayer Products, Inc – commercial vehicle systems

“OEM expectations of supply chain performance in all areas have never been greater,” said Jeff Stoner, ArvinMeritor vice president of worldwide procurement. “So, it is critical for Tier One suppliers to create a lean, effective team of suppliers. Our suppliers must embrace continuous improvement, as well as develop innovative, high-quality products to meet customer demand — on time and at the lowest possible cost. If we work together to make this happen, we can all benefit.”

The ArvinMeritor supplier conferences are held each year in Europe, Mexico, North America and South America, and provide an opportunity for the company’s suppliers to network and discuss challenges facing the automotive industry. The meeting focuses on ArvinMeritor’s expectations from its suppliers, and offers a number of tools and resources to help ArvinMeritor and its suppliers create a world-class value chain, according to the company.
