CHANTILLY, Va. The China Internal Combustion Engine Industry Association (CICEIA) and the Automotive Parts Remanufacturers Association (APRA) have entered into a cooperation agreement to promote more remanufacturing in both China and the U.S.
The agreement, which was reached on Sept. 27, will kick off with CICEIA serving as a co-sponsor of APRA’s upcoming “International Remanufacturing Forum” in Shanghai on Dec. 10. CICEIA will co-sponsor the event along with Automechanika Shanghai.
As part of the overall agreement, APRA President Bill Gager and Ge Hong, president of CICEIA, agreed to promote a circular “green” economy that would encourage more savings of natural resources and environmentally friendly businesses in the remanufacturing industry. The basic content of the agreement will encourage more networking opportunities among the members of both associations and initiate efficient communication between both groups.
Manufacturers of all type of cleaning and test equipment throughout the world will benefit by the increased levels of remanufacturing that will take place in the next five years in China and other Asian Pacific countries, according to APRA.
“Both parties agreed to study the trade policies from both countries and encourage the removal of trade barriers for remanufactured products and cores,” Gager stated.
