APH Acquires Sturdevant’s Auto Parts

This acquisition will bring APH’s corporate store count to nearly 200 and independent store count to more than 75.

Tim Sturdevant announced he is selling his business to Auto Parts Headquarters Inc. (APH), a third-generation family-owned auto parts distributor and store group based in St. Cloud, Minnesota. APH is a leading auto parts distributor with 149 corporate and 32 independent store locations in six states. As a result of the deal, the 49 Sturdevant’s corporate stores will be rebranded as Sturdevant’s Auto Value and the 45 independent customers will transition to the Auto Value brand. This acquisition will bring APH’s corporate store count to nearly 200 and independent store count to more than 75.

Sturdevant’s Auto Parts, owned and operated by Tim Sturdevant, along with his partners, has been in business since 1922. Headquartered in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, the business began in Wahpeton, North Dakota, and Pipestone, Minnesota, where they opened their first stores. Nearly 100 years later, Sturdevant’s Auto Parts is still focused on providing exceptional customer service to auto repair professionals and serious DIYers throughout the region.

Tim Sturdevant, president of Sturdevant’s Auto Parts, stated, “We have known the Bartlett family for many years — the Sturdevant family and Bartlett family have great respect for each other. As I thought about our company’s future, I knew APH would be a great fit to continue our family culture and growth. Putting our companies together will provide a significant number of benefits to both our employees and our customers. I am confident our collective auto parts knowledge and experience will result in a win-win for our customers.”

“Given our history with the Sturdevant family, we are excited and humbled Tim has chosen to sell his business to APH and look forward to building on their strong tradition of quality products, knowledgeable employees and superior service,” commented Corey Bartlett, president and CEO of APH. “We are excited to enter these new markets and fortunate to add the Sturdevant’s team to the APH family.”
