DALLAS, TX — The Automotive Oil Change Association (AOCA), a non-profit trade organization representing the convenient automotive maintenance industry, has released the second edition of its Technician Academy training materials.

The program is designed so that a manager or trainer can periodically test a student’s mastery of the units with short quizzes and hands-on demonstrations. The material is organized by lube center job functions, including greeter, upper tech, lower tech, etc. It also includes sections on customer service and safety in the workplace.

AOCA members who previously purchased Technician Academy, will be provided the updated version of the Technician Guide, Trainer Guide and Technician Workbook without charge.

In addition, a new certification test has been prepared to reflect the expanded and updated materials in the second edition.

Upon completion of the program, each student is tested on the material. Those that pass the AOCA Lube Technician exam will receive a certificate of completion, an ID card and a badge or patch for their uniform.
