AMALIE Oil Acquires Lubricating Specialties Co.

With the addition of the LSC locations, the combined business will sell to and service customers both domestically and internationally, from what AMALIE says will be “the strongest and most efficient platform in the industry.”

AMALIE Oil Co., a leading family owned lubricant manufacturer in the United States, has acquired Lubricating Specialties Co. (LSC). LSC is one of the largest independent lubricant manufacturers in the Western United States, with three production facilities in the Los Angeles area.

AMALIE, founded in 1903, currently operates two facilities located in Port Tampa Bay and the Port of North Charleston, South Carolina. Both locations are on deep water ports, with a combined 64 acres and more than 35,000,000 gallons of tank storage.

With the addition of the LSC locations, the combined business will sell to and service customers both domestically and internationally, from what AMALIE says will be “the strongest and most efficient platform in the industry.” In addition, LSC produces more than 25 million pounds of grease and other specialty products.

“Both companies have a rich history and strong culture of quality and service. Combining the companies will enhance our ability to service our customers at the highest level,” said Harry Barkett, president of AMALIE Oil.
