Allison Transmission Opens New Facility In The Netherlands

The new multi-purpose facility in the Netherlands will better serve customers across Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

INDIANAPOLIS – Allison Transmission Holdings Inc. this week opened a new multi-purpose facility in the Netherlands to better serve its customers across Europe, the Middle East and Africa. Located in Sliedrecht, the 34,000-square-foot building centralizes the company’s parts distribution, product customization and customer training functions for the region.

"This facility further expands Allison’s capability to provide our OEMs with transmissions that are ‘installation ready,’" said Michael Headly, senior vice president of global marketing, sales and service for Allison Transmission. "We are focused on providing the best overall value to our customers, which includes services such as those available from our new facility."

The integrated customer services will benefit original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) and end-users of Allison Transmission products. By building a parts distribution center (PDC) and customization center that is located close to major hubs for truck and bus manufacturing, Allison is demonstrating its ongoing commitment to customer satisfaction.

Additionally, as the prime source for its hands-on fully automatic transmission and education training, Allison included a technical training facility within the PDC. Technicians and end-users now have the opportunity to increase their fully automatic transmission knowledge, enhance their technical skill sets and benefit from the experience of certified Allison Transmission instructors. Examples of Allison transmission products and support equipment also are available for students to tear down and perform maintenance-associated activities.
