The Aftermarket Auto Parts Alliance has promoted John Carlson “JC” Washbish to vice president of marketing for the organization. His appointment was effective Jan. 1. He will continue to lead the marketing efforts for the Alliance including promotions, branding, communications and events. Various members of the Alliance board of directors were involved with the decision of promoting Washbish.
“Our entire Alliance headquarters sales and marketing effort is coordinated to improve the competitiveness of all Alliance shareholders. JC and his marketing team continue to develop methods to help us grow our market share. We are delighted to have him on our staff,” said Corey Bartlett, the chairman of the Alliance board of directors, and president and CEO of APH.
“The marketing effort at Alliance headquarters is better than ever before,” added Brian Weiss, treasurer for the Alliance board and president and CEO of Warren Distributing.
The Alliance held its Aftermarket Jackpot Convention in Las Vegas during the 2018 AAPEX and SEMA shows, hosting more than 3,500 technician professionals. “JC oversaw every detail of our Jackpot Convention,” said Secretary for the Alliance Board and Co-President of Hahn Automotive, Eli Futerman, “and following the Convention’s spectacular result, it was time to elevate his title to the position where he is playing!”
Washbish was previously the director of marketing, having joined the Alliance in this capacity in June of 2016. Prior to joining the Alliance, JC was an account executive with NGK Spark Plugs (U.S.A.) Inc. located Wixom, Michigan. While at NGK, he was responsible for several major accounts including Pepboys, Blain’s Farm and Fleet, Mills Fleet Farm as well as servicing NGK’s Caribbean market. Washbish holds a Doctor of Jurisprudence degree from Ava Maria School of Law in Naples, Florida, and holds a bachelor’s degree from Franciscan University of Steubenville, Ohio. JC and his wife, Mallary, live in San Antonio with their four children.
