The annual Petty’s Garage Car Show presented by the Automotive Lift Institute (ALI) will be a free cruise-in event this year. The cruise-in will take place on the historic Petty compound in Level Cross, North Carolina, on Oct. 1, and will include free admission to the Richard Petty Museum. A VIP cookout will be held the night before the cruise-in on the grounds of Richard Petty’s home, Reverie Place. Cookout tickets are $25 per person for ages 11 and up.
“Changing the format from a traditional car show to a cruise-in opens the event up to more people,” said R.W. “Bob” O’Gorman, ALI president. “All makes, models and ages of cars are welcome, with no pre-registration required. There is no charge to participate in the cruise-in on Saturday, and everyone is welcome to come and walk the grounds, visit the museum and check out the working speed shop where the Petty’s Garage team builds high-performance Mustangs, Challengers, Chargers, Jeeps and more every day.”
Cruise-in participants are invited to attend an exclusive cookout at 6 p.m. on Sept. 30 at Reverie Place, Richard Petty’s ranch just up the road from Petty’s Garage in Randleman, North Carolina. Admission to the cookout is limited to 200 people.
Petty’s Garage gates are open 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 1. The first 200 show cars to arrive will be eligible for the People’s Choice Award. Judging runs until 11 a.m. No pre-registration or entry fee is required.
The Richard Petty Museum opens at 9 a.m. The Museum features trophies, cars, memorabilia and more to tell the story of Richard Petty’s NASCAR career. There will also be a special exhibit for the kids, featuring Mr. and Mrs. The King and the Hudson Hornet from the Disney Pixar movie, Cars.
The Petty’s Garage Cruise-in will be held at the Level Cross Petty Enterprises Historical Site, 311 Branson Mill Road in Randleman, North Carolina.
