Akebono North America Names New Executive Vice President

Akebono Corp., one of North America’s leading suppliers of advanced brake technology, has appointed Johann Finkelmeier as executive vice president, global strategy and business development.

FARMINGTON HILLS, MI — Akebono Corp., one of North America’s leading suppliers of advanced brake technology, has appointed Johann Finkelmeier as executive vice president, global strategy and business development.

Finkelmeier has more than 25 years of experience in strategic planning and implementation, international value chains, production and distribution and team building. Most recently he served in a consulting capacity to Akebono’s North American management team. Prior to this position, he worked in various executive positions with ThyssenKrupp North America and later served as president of ThyssenKrupp Steel North America spearheading its North American automotive activities.

As EVP, Finkelmeier will be responsible for North American OEM and OES sales and marketing activities as well as global strategy and business development. He also will lead business planning activities, including brand management and commercial long-range planning.
