FARMINGTON HILLS, MI — Akebono will launch the Akebono Premium Disc Brake Pads friction line next month. The line will feature 116 part numbers, covering a wide range of both late-model import and popular domestic vehicles.

Akebono Premium Disc Brake Pads feature the company’s ceramic friction technology, designed to provide superior quiet, smooth braking performance in a variety of driving conditions. Akebono ceramic formulations feature up to 20 separate raw materials formulated and tested to address brake noise, vibration and harshness (NVH) – the automotive industry’s No. 1 warranty issue.

The Akebono Premium Disc Brake Pads line evolved from the company’s exclusive Akebono Import Specialist Disc (ISD) line of ceramic friction materials. It features both existing import and recently released domestic model part numbers. A new comprehensive Akebono Premium Disc Brake Pads catalog and package will be available in March. Additional part numbers will be added during the course of the year.
