Akebono Wins ‘Best Problem-Solver’ For Imports

The company was recognized during the Import Vehicle Community Product and Marketing Awards held last week at AAPEX.

Akebono Brake Corporation was awarded the 2021 “Best Problem-Solver for Import Vehicles” during the Import Vehicle Community Product and Marketing Awards ceremony held at AAPEX last week. The winning entry was Akebono EURO Ultra-Premium Ceramic Disc Brake Pads for 2012-2021 BMW sedans and coupes with blue-caliper/performance brake package — EUR1880 (front) and EUR1656 (rear) brake pad kits.

The Akebono EURO Ultra-Premium Disc Brake Pad line was recognized for excellent braking performance across a wide spectrum of brake temperatures, while virtually eliminating brake dust and noise, on top of extending the life of the brake rotors and the brake pads themselves, says the company. The end results are: happy vehicle owners; a lot less daily/weekly wheel cleaning; increasing the time between brake service; and saving customers time and money.

“Smooth, quiet and dust-free braking for European vehicle owners is a welcome surprise to many of our first-time customers, but over the years, we have built a strong following and it’s common for us to get inquiries, from owners looking for our brake pads, for their brand-new European vehicle,” said Edward Gerhardt, marketing and data service manager, Akebono Brake Corporation. “This is not the first time our EURO Ultra-Premium Disc Brake Pad line has won an award, and I hope it’s not the last. We continue to expand the offering and have many new numbers coming out soon.

“I would like to take this time to thank our manufacturing, purchasing, product and customer service teams…the last 20 months have presented unique challenges for every department, and every team-member, the combined dedication and effort has allowed us to shine, in seemingly impossible situations. I am so proud to be part of this organization, and the high-quality products we offer to the independent aftermarket that are made in our Glasgow, Kentucky, plant – Proudly Made in the USA!”
