FORT MYERS, Fla. and HOUSTON, Texas — Advance Auto Parts has launched a home delivery service and parts program called “DIY Home Delivery.” The concept is simple: Advance will deliver parts to customers when and where they need it most. Ft. Myers, Fla., and Houston, Texas, are two markets currently offering this service.
“We’re always listening to our customers,” said Advance Auto Parts CEO Darren Jackson. “And they needed us to bring convenient solutions to them in the moment and that’s not always in-store. DIY Home Delivery is a way for us to serve our customers in a way that makes their life easier, and it just reinforces our promise that service really is our best part.”
According to Jackson, DIY Home Delivery was a natural extension of Advance’s in-store service commitment, and spurred on by hundreds of customer stories pointing to the need for the program.
“Your car is up on blocks while you’re doing a brake job and you realize you need new rotors too. You’re late for work, but when you go to start your car, the battery is dead. These situations happen to people every day,” added Regional Vice President Ralph Gonzalez. “But if the vehicle is on blocks, or it simply won’t start, you’re out of luck. You need the store to come to you and that’s exactly what our Home Delivery program does.”
As part of the program, the company says team members are on stand-by at local Advance stores to provide quick, custom solutions — and in most cases, delivery within a few hours. Delivery is free for all orders over $100.
This new program takes that of its competitor AutoZone one step further. Last May, AutoZone introduced a new “Buy Online Pick-Up In-Store” service that allows customers to select and purchase items online and pick-up merchandise at a designated AutoZone store.
