AASA Overseas Automotive Council To Take A Deep Dive Into Global Markets At First-Ever Global Summit

Some of the topics will include global expansion in Mexico and the Asia Pacific, and international data standards.

The inaugural Overseas Automotive Council (OAC) Global Summit on Friday, Jan. 26, will take automotive aftermarket suppliers and channel partners on a deep dive into global markets. The event is presented by the OAC of the Automotive Aftermarket Suppliers Association (AASA).

“This first of what will become an annual event provides a forum for suppliers and channel partners to explore international opportunities and collaborate to advance the international aftermarket industry,” said Bill Long, AASA president and chief operating officer. “Attendees will include top executives and leaders from supplier companies and aftermarket channel partners with responsibilities for their company’s international operations, and executives interested in exploring global exporting opportunities.”

“AASA members and channel partners are each seeking growth in 2018,” said Ben Brucato, AASA senior director of membership and sponsorship. “OAC, our exporting council, is committed to offering its members the tools and resources to grow opportunities outside the U.S. We are hosting the OAC Global Summit in Miami to bring customers and suppliers together to explore growth opportunities and new international trends.”

OAC Global Summit keynote speakers and topics will include:

  • Miguel Garcia, LATAM general manager, Federal-Mogul Motorparts: “Strategies for Global Expansion: Mexico”
  • John Price, managing director, Americas Market Intelligence: “Deep Dive into Latin America: Politics and Economy”
  • Tom Muldowney, managing director, International Market Access Ltd. (IMA): “Developing Growth Strategies in Asia Pacific”
  • Marc Poulson, director, global aftermarket, OptiCat: “International Data Standards – Supporting Suppliers and International Distributors”
  • Paul McCarthy, executive vice president, AASA and senior vice president of strategy MEMA: 2018 Aftermarket Outlook
