AASA Marketing Executives Council Announces 2011 Leadership

The AASA Marketing Executive Council spearheaded the AASA Know Your Parts industry education and awareness campaign, which marked its one-year anniversary at AAPEX 2010.

RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, N.C. – The Marketing Executives Council, a peer group of the Automotive Aftermarket Suppliers Association (AASA), recently announced its new officers for 2011.

The AASA Marketing Executives Council officers are:

• Chairman: Scott Howat, director, corporate communications, Affinia Group Inc.
 
• First Vice Chairman: Kevin Burton, director, marketing and integrated business supply, Four Season Division of Standard Motor Products

• Second Vice Chairman: Robert Christy, director of marketing, Dayco Products LLC

• Secretary: Mark Sprague, global manager, corporate marketing manager, NGK Spark Plugs (USA) Inc.

• Immediate Past Chairman: Barry Harris, global manager – products, cataloging and marketing, The Timken Corp.

The AASA Marketing Executive Council spearheaded the AASA Know Your Parts industry education and awareness campaign, which marked its one-year anniversary at AAPEX 2010.

The following members recently agreed to continue serving on the MEC Know Your Parts Task Force, which provides input and guidance in the campaign’s promotion and growth:

• Chairman: Brian Tarnacki, brand director, Federal-Mogul Corp.

• Brian Altenberger, global channel, category and pricing director, Delphi Product and Service Solutions

• Kevin Burton, director, marketing and integrated business supply, Four Season Division of Standard Motor Products

• Barry Harris, global manager, products, cataloging and marketing, The Timken Corp.

• Scott Howat, director, corporate communications, Affinia Group Inc.

The AASA Supplier Evaluation Standards is the latest tool from the AASA Know Your Parts campaign. This electronic questionnaire is designed for aftermarket channel partners to use before reaching a buying decision to ascertain if potential suppliers provide full-service and quality products. The standards, which will be available soon for free download online, were developed by the MEC Supplier Evaluation Task Force.

The following task force members also have agreed to serve another term as the Supplier Evaluation Standards are released to the industry and continue to be refined:

• Bill Dennie, director, channel management, Tenneco Inc.

• Larry Fidance, marketing manager, DENSO

• Ted Hughes, brand manager, Mahle Clevite

• Don McEntee, vice president, marketing, SKF
