LAS VEGAS —
AAPEX show organizers will again this year pursue an active campaign to keep the trade show free of counterfeiting.
Building on last year’s program, exhibitors will receive several notices provided in multiple languages advising of sanctions they will face if found to violate trademarks and patents with products and promotional materials displayed at AAPEX. The sanctions can include being barred from the show for two years and the loss of seniority.
Show organizers will have legal counsel on-site to assist exhibitors with any complaints of alleged infringements. At AAPEX 2003, 12 such complaints were resolved satisfactorily, with products and promotional materials being removed from booths. AAPEX exhibitors are required to comply with U.S. laws and regulations. Notices will also be sent to exhibitors regarding compliance with U.S. country of origin and Made in U.S.A. labeling laws.
