AAM Expands Its Manufacturing Presence in Asia with New Facility in Thailand

RAYONG, Thailand — American Axle & Manufacturing Holdings (AAM) recently announced the grand opening of its Rayong Manufacturing Facility, located in the Hemaraj Eastern Seaboard Industrial Estate in the Rayong Province of Thailand.

Joseph Tang, plant manager of Rayong Manufacturing Facility, will oversee the facility’s manufacture of highly engineered and proven driveline products for the region. Products manufactured at the facility include front axles, rear axles and driveshafts.

"We are extremely pleased to celebrate the grand opening of AAM’s sixth regional manufacturing operation in Asia," said AAM Executive Vice President, Worldwide Operations John Bellanti. "Rayong Manufacturing Facility will allow us to leverage AAM’s historic track record of world-class quality, delivery, reliability and outstanding warranty performance while furthering AAM’s global expansion strategy in the second largest pickup truck market in the world."

"Profitable growth in Asia is a key component of our global business strategy," said President-AAM Asia, Vice President-AAM Steven Proctor. "This new manufacturing facility reflects this commitment to Asia, while allowing us to provide advanced-technology products for current and potential new customers throughout the region."

Rayong Manufacturing Facility is a regional manufacturing plant that occupies approximately 125,000-square-feet of manufacturing space, with an additional 13,000-square-feet dedicated to administration. Currently, 195 associates are employed at the facility. When fully operational, the facility will have approximately 275 engineering and manufacturing associates.
