Jacabacci joined Woodbury Automotive Warehouse in 1973, advancing through a variety of positions including delivery driver, machine shop operator, counterman, warehouse manager, operations manager, sales manager and vice president before assuming the role of president and CEO. For the past three years, Jacabacci has served in a sales management position for Parts Authority after selling Woodbury Automotive Warehouse in 2013.

OBITUARY: Former CABA President Gerard Francis ‘Gerry’ Kunkel

Gerard, 87 years old, served in the Army at Los Alamos, N.M., as an engineer on the Atomic Bomb “Manhattan” Project. In 1947, he entered the family business, The Kunkel Service Co. He served as president from 1964 until retirement in 1995, growing the business from four to 15 stores during his tenure.

A 22-person board of directors has been named to the combined organization and officers have been elected with Larry Jackson (Hickory Ridge Sunoco/Columbia, Md.) to serve as first-year president. Bob Wilson (Edgewater Tire & Auto/Annapolis, Md.) is the first vice president and will assume the WMDA-CABA presidency in 2012.

Doug Meekins, general manager of Brooks Huff Tire and Auto in Baltimore, Md., was elected to serve as president for the 2011-2012 term of the Chesapeake Automotive Business Association (CABA) board of directors. Meekins was installed as president during the association’s annual membership meeting on Oct. 27.
