41st Annual Northwood University International Auto Show Set for Oct. 8-10

Northwood University has announced the date and theme for the 41st annual Northwood University International Auto Show (NUIAS). NUIAS is scheduled to take place on Oct. 8, 9 and 10 in Midland, Mich. The theme of this year's show is "One World. One Vision. One Show." Held during the peak fall color season on Northwood's beautifully wooded campus in Midland, the show will feature 450 new domestic and imported cars, trucks, recreational vehicles, vans and experimental and specialty vehicles.

MIDLAND, MI — Northwood University has announced the date and theme for the 41st annual Northwood University International Auto Show (NUIAS). NUIAS is scheduled to take place on Oct. 8, 9 and 10 in Midland, Mich. The theme of this year’s show is “One World. One Vision. One Show.”

Held during the peak fall color season on Northwood’s beautifully wooded campus in Midland, the show will feature 450 new domestic and imported cars, trucks, recreational vehicles, vans and experimental and specialty vehicles. The event will also include a large automotive aftermarket exhibit and a classic car show. Many other exhibits will line the Mall Walk and offer a variety of food, information and entertainment.

The auto show is free and annually attracts 50,000 visitors including many industry leaders. A VIP panel of industry leaders who make individual presentations and then join as a group to discuss the state of the automotive industry and predict future trends begins the three-day event. This year’s VIP panelists include: keynote speaker Mark Reuss, executive director, vehicle architecture and GM performance division; Rod Alberts, executive director Detroit Auto Dealers Association (DADA), and executive director, North American International Auto Show; Keith Crain, publisher and editor-in-chief, Automotive News, Automotive News Europe and editorial director, AutoWeek; Hal Logan, senior vice president of marketing, Manheim; and Kathleen Schmatz, president and CEO, Automotive Aftermarket Industry Association.

Approximately 300 students from all areas of study at Northwood will produce the show. They will serve as executive board members, team captains or as teammates.

Rob Wilson, a senior from Yale, Michigan, will chair the event. Mark Foster, a senior from Carollton, Ga., is vice chair. Schellen Durance, a junior from Davison, has been named chair of the aftermarket division. Joseph Lescota, chair of Northwood’s Automotive Marketing department, is the student advisor. James John, chair of the Automotive Aftermarket department, is student advisor for the aftermarket area.
