At the AAPEX Show in Las Vegas, Technician.Academy and Megan Meyer of Randy Meyer Racing announced the 2019 Respect is Learned In The Pits contest and opened applications for the opportunity. The teams added to the big news by announcing an additional twist for the 2019 contest.
“We’ll be doing something a little bit different this year by having, not one, but two interns available to work on the cars,” said Megan Meyer in a Facebook live video on Nov. 1. “We’ll have one guy or girl for each car for the U.S. Nationals.”
Two 2019 winners will have the opportunity to work in the pits with the Randy Meyer Racing team and gain firsthand experience on the nitro dragsters. The RMR team is excited to bring two new faces into the drag racing world to help the crew.
“They get to jump in and work with the guys on the car. They aren’t there to clean it,” said Megan Meyer. “[It’s] completely different than what you learn in school, so it’s a great opportunity for them to come and experience that and add it to their resume.”
