SOUTHFIELD, Mich. Federal-Mogul has announced it will offer automotive enthusiasts, racers and consumers chances to earn a share of $100,000 in racing sponsorships through the new www.AlwaysaChampion.com site. The site also will offer the latest “Performance Driven” technologies, free downloads of attractive posters and other digital files along with Kevin Harvick "hero cards."
Featuring video, product information and more, the website is part of an aggressive initiative to demonstrate Champion technologies to the new generation of do-it-yourselfers and consumers who demand premium performance from every engine and vehicle they own, Federal-Mogul says. The Champion brand also has expanded beyond its spark plug line with new offerings of engine filtration products, wiper blades and performance chemical additives.
Prominently featured on the new site is the innovative “Search for a Champion” video contest, through which Federal-Mogul will award one $50,000 and five $10,000 motorsports sponsorships to grassroots racers who best demonstrate their ability to compete for titles in 2012. Announced in October by NASCAR Sprint Cup driver and Champion spokesperson Kevin Harvick, the contest is open to amateur teams in any form of engine-driven racing, whether on earth/dirt, asphalt, snow, ice, water or other course. Deadline for entries is Dec. 31, 2011. (See website for program rules.)
“‘Search for a Champion’ has already helped connect the Champion brand with thousands of enthusiasts who want the very best technologies for their engines. We’re seeing record traffic and tremendous interest in Champion products and programs on the new website,” said Michael Proud, director of marketing, North America, Federal-Mogul.
The new website also includes detailed information on the full range of Champion products, including spark plugs for automotive, power sport, marine, lawn and garden and industrial engines; oil, air and cabin air filters; and performance chemical additives. Visitors also can follow an illustrated timeline covering the brand’s more than 100 years of innovation, and download an array of free, collectable-quality digital posters and desktop wallpapers featuring Champion images, logos and photos of Harvick and the No. 29 Budweiser Chevrolet.
Free digital hero cards featuring Harvick and the Richard Childress Racing-owned No. 29 car and the No. 33 Champion Filters Chevrolet driven in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series are also available on the site.
