GASTONIA, N.C. WIX Filters, a member of the Affinia Group family of brands, has awarded $45,584 to local FFA chapters throughout the United States through its 2011 WIX Filters/FFA box top program.
Between January and April 2011, participating FFA chapters turned in WIX Filters box tops for a 25-cent donation from WIX. Students in participating FFA chapters redeemed 158,329 box tops. FFA chapters across the country were rewarded with a total donation from WIX Filters of $39,584.25, plus six $1,000 bonuses.
“For 24 consecutive years, WIX Filters has supported students and local FFA chapters through this box top redemption program,” said Mike Harvey, brand manager of WIX Filters. “We thank the parts stores, local agri-businesses, shops and do-it-yourselfers who purchase and sell WIX Filters in support of their local FFA organizations. Through your generosity, WIX has donated more than $600,000 to local FFA chapters since 2000.”
As part of the program’s incentives, FFA chapters across the United States compete for six $1,000 bonuses in different categories, including most box tops redeemed, most box tops redeemed per member and highest percentage increase over the previous year’s effort.
The Coudersport Area Spud Growers FFA in Coudersport, Pa., earned a $1,000 bonus for submitting the most box tops (7,372) of any FFA chapter in 2011. Four FFA chapters received $1,000 bonuses for submitting the most box tops per member: St. Francis FFA in Saint Francis, Kan. (253.05 per member); Big Sandy FFA in Big Sandy, Mont. (252.50 per member); Stevensville FFA in Stevensville, Mont. (187.26 per member); and Sugar River Valley FFA in Newport, N.H. (125.98 per member). Aubrey FFA in Aubrey, Texas, delivered the largest percentage increase (104.6 percent) of box tops submitted and earned a $1,000 bonus as well.
