Company says this marks a new milestone as a provider of professional training solutions for the commercial vehicle industry.

BRUSSELS, Belgium – WABCO Holdings Inc., a global technology leader and Tier One supplier to the commercial vehicle industry, announced that the company’s professional training organization, WABCO University, recently graduated its 100,000th participant. Technical training is a core element within WABCO University's comprehensive portfolio of training solutions, including computer-aided diagnosis of electronic vehicle control systems.
 
A record number of more than 14,000 customers from 51 countries completed training courses at WABCO University in 2013 alone, an increase of 4 percent compared to the previous year. In total, WABCO University conducted more than 1,200 training sessions in 2013 at the company’s 14 training centers worldwide.
 
WABCO University was launched in 2006 to support the diverse qualification needs of customers worldwide. WABCO University offers solutions for technical training, business training and consulting services courses in nine languages, including German, Chinese and Russian. In order to offer the most flexible and effective solutions to its customers WABCO University provides programs at the WABCO training centers, on-site at the client or online via e-learning courses.

A core element within WABCO University’s comprehensive portfolio of training solutions remains its technical training program that today represents more than three quarters of the total business volume. The most sought-after technical training courses worldwide are related to WABCO’s award-winning Intelligent Trailer Program. The Intelligent Trailer Program offers more than 30 different key trailer functions that can help trailer builders, fleet operators or cargo owners decrease transportation costs, save fuel and increase driver safety and comfort.
 
In 2013, WABCO University further expanded its state-certified TopDriver training program to qualify truck and bus drivers based on European Union regulatory requirements. The program features cost-effective training concepts for fleet customers to enhance driver and road safety. Thereby, the TopDriver training program helps to increase fuel efficiency while reducing the number of accidents, related downtimes and total transportation costs.
 
In addition, the technical training program provides numerous practical and customer-specific training modules, including basic courses in air brake technology, foundation brake systems and electronic systems, as well as system training courses in anti-lock braking systems (ABS), electronic braking systems (EBS), electronically controlled air suspension (ECAS), bus systems, driver safety, and training on local rules and regulations.
