U of A’s ‘Aftermarket 101’ Seminar for New Industry Professionals Returns to Detroit April 26-27

The two-day event will feature leading industry speakers, and the seminar will cover aftermarket structure, business trends and competitive issues facing parts and service businesses.

MIDLAND, Mich. – "Aftermarket 101," the University of the Aftermarket’s day-and-a-half introduction to the motor vehicle replacement parts and service industry, will be offered April 26-27 at Federal-Mogul’s world headquarters facility in Southfield, Mich. This seminar is an ideal learning opportunity for any professional who is relatively new to the aftermarket or whose increased responsibilities require a greater understanding of the industry’s structure, business trends and key competitive issues.

Aftermarket 101 topics include “Industry Basics & Structure,” “History of the Aftermarket,” “State of the Industry,” “Channels of Distribution” and “The Global Aftermarket.” The program also will feature a panel discussion among vehicle repair technicians and a tour of a local warehouse distribution operation. The seminar features an impressive list of speakers representing the manufacturing, distribution and association sectors.

“This seminar is one of the most popular programs we offer and usually sells out quickly,” said University of the Aftermarket Director Brian Cruickshank, MAAP. “It offers the most concentrated, comprehensive study of the industry and it enables participants to hit the ground running when they get back to their jobs. We thank Federal-Mogul for graciously offering their meeting facilities for this important session.”

Participants in Aftermarket 101 will earn 1.0 continuing education unit that can be applied toward their Automotive Aftermarket Professional (AAP) and Master Automotive Aftermarket Professional (MAAP) designations.

Aftermarket 101 and other key University of the Aftermarket programs are provided through generous support of the independent University of the Aftermarket Foundation, which funds a wide range of industry organizations and activities.

Seating for Aftermarket 101 is limited, so those interested in attending are encouraged to reserve their spots as soon as possible. Registration for the seminar is now open through the “Course Calendar” link at www.universityoftheaftermarket.com or by calling 1-800-551-2882.
