Tony Harrison of Bob Moore Collision Center in Moore, Oklahoma, has been selected as the first-ever recipient of the I-CAR Platinum/ASE Master Collision Repair and Refinish Technician of the Year award.
Harrison has more than 46 years of experience as a collision repair technician and has been an I-CAR instructor for 25 years. He was selected from among hundreds of individuals who hold both I-CAR Platinum status and ASE Master Collision Repair and Refinish certification, and for demonstrating superior commitment to the industry and to the importance of training.
Harrison received the award at the annual ASE Technician Awards banquet on Nov. 16 in Concord, North Carolina.
During his more than four decades in the industry, Harrison is a two-time winner of the I-CAR Instructor of the Year Award, he is a recipient of the I-CAR Leadership Award and the ASE Instructor Achievement Award. He is currently an aluminum technician at Bob Moore Collision Center, and he is aluminum certified for Audi, Porsche, Ford F-150, Acura and Cadillac.
Harrison said he became a technician because of his love of cars and a desire to channel that passion to help others. “It is rewarding to be able to make a positive outcome from an accident in someone’s life,” he said.
I-CAR CEO and President John Van Alstyne presented the award to Harrison. “This is in recognition of the value you place on continuing education and certification, along with your unwavering commitment to the industry and to I-CAR,” he said. “It is a testament to the quality of work that you do and to your ability to pass your knowledge and skills along to other technicians.”
