When looking for filtration products for European vehicles, WDs get the call two out of three times from independent repair shops. In research performed by IMR Automotive Research, 64.6 percent of those surveyed said WDs were their primary source for filtration parts, while only 31.5 percent called a retailer first.
“Independent repair shops are very consistent [with] where they get their filtration products,” said Bill Thompson, president and CEO of IMR Inc. “No matter what type of vehicle – Asian, European or domestic – WDs are the first choice for purchase two-thirds of the time. Of those shops surveyed, only 3.9 percent said they went to the new car dealer for European filtration products. However, this number was higher than the shops who went to the dealer for parts for domestic (2.9 percent) and Asian (3.5 percent) vehicles.”
