In other top news from the week, CARQUEST announced that John Kahut, vice president, paint and PBE operations and sales, CARQUEST U.S., has been named senior vice president independent sales for the company. Kahut began his career with CARQUEST in November 1986 as an account executive in Lakeville, Minn.

Also this week, Internet AutoParts, a B2B eCommerce solution provider for the automotive aftermarket, announced an extension of its long-term agreement with O’Reilly Auto Parts. IAP’s eStore and integration to more than 30 shop management systems provides automotive service professionals who purchase from O’Reilly with the tools needed to do eCommerce with O’Reilly.
Last in our round-up of the week’s top news, Johnson Controls has announced that it will implement an 8 percent price increase on lead-acid batteries sold in the U.S. and Canada for orders starting May 1. The price hike comes as a result of increasing environmental, health and safety standards and the investments required to support them, Johnson Controls says.
