Stoneridge Inc. received a partnership award from Daimler AG for the international rollout of driver information systems for FUSO, Freightliner and Mercedes-Benz trucks. Stoneridge’s President and CEO Jon DeGaynor accepted the award during a ceremony that took place at the Mercedes-Benz Customer Centre on Feb. 28, in Sindelfingen, Germany.
“We are honored to receive this recognition from Daimler AG. This award from a key customer indicates that we are providing compelling technical solutions to help ensure their success in all regions of the world,” said DeGaynor. “We value the partnership that we have cultivated with Daimler to deliver innovative technology for the global commercial vehicle industry.”
Ten companies were selected from Daimler global suppliers for achieving excellence in quality, partnership and innovative strength. Stoneridge was one of three suppliers recognized in the partnership category.
“Stoneridge always goes above and beyond to create the best body electronic, instrument and telematics components for our trucks and buses,” said Dr. Marcus Schoenenberg, vice president of procurement, Daimler Trucks and Buses, Daimler AG. “With this 10th award, we’re also celebrating decades of joint success. Combining our expertise with those of our suppliers, we created top-quality Daimler trucks and buses, and we are looking forward to entering a new chapter in that partnership.”
The winners of the Daimler Supplier Award 2017 received a newly designed trophy that expresses the importance of trusting cooperation between Daimler AG and its suppliers. The trophies were presented by various members of the board of management of Daimler AG, in each case together with the heads of the Daimler respective procurement departments, Klaus Zehender, executive vice president of Mercedes-Benz Cars procurement and supplier quality; Marcus Schoenenberg, head of global procurement trucks and buses; and Andreas Burkhart, head of international procurement services.
